A chili smoked avocado that can reign on its own or along side your favorite dish.
A new way to enjoy a favorite.
This dish was inspired by a recent trip to the Dominican Republic where I enjoyed the tastiest seafood cocktail surrounding a smoked avocado. Its light, flavorful and can easily stand alone with some tostones on the side or used as a topping on your favorite fish fillet or veggie dish.
Smoked avocado
Ingredients
1/2 an avocado
Chili oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Oak or maple wood chips and a stove top smoker
method
Prep your stove top smoker by placing tin foil along the bottom of the pan and adding 1-2 tbsp wood chips.
Peel the skin away from the avocado half and cover the avocado in chili oil, salt and pepper.
Place the avocado (cut side down) in the smoker and place the smoker on your stove top on medium heat. Smoke the avocado for 20-30 minutes or until you have reached your desired smoked flavor.
